Winscombe 1 : 1 Mendip Ladies 1st

Mendip earned a deserved away point at Winscombe on Saturday.
After soaking up some early pressure, the visitors took the lead on the counter attack. Sammy Chivers played the ball down the line, picking out Maddison Collins, who crossed for Jasmine Scott to score.
The remainder of the first half was evenly matched, with both sides passing the ball well through midfield. Goal scoring chances were few and far between, as both defences held their ground.
Winscombe equalised with a goal from close range midway through the second half.
Mendip created a couple of good opportunities late on, but the usually well-oiled penalty corner routine was looking a little rusty.
A last gasp save from Mendip keeper Carrie Tiley ensured that the points were shared.
Player of the match was the hard-working Brenda Scott.
