10/01/15: Mendip Ladies 1st put in a determined performance against Old Bristolians on Saturday. After an early goal from Old B’s, Mendip settled into the game, with Hayley Young showing good skills and composure in central midfield. With twenty minutes played, Cherilyn Carey scored a text-book equaliser, firing home a well placed cross.
Old B’s came out in the second half energised and put Mendip under renewed pressure. Eventually the home defence cracked and Old Bs found the back of the net once more. Mendip responded well to conceding the second goal, but could not capitalise on their own shooting opportunities to earn a share of the spoils.
This Saturday, Mendip travel to Bournemouth (11:45am).
