Ladies travelled to the distance lands of Shepton Mallet for their debut game of Prem 2 today in the drizzle to meet old rivals. The first half was well contested and at times, both teams had periods of pressure but the score line remained 0-0 at half time. Melissa Forster worked with determination on the right to carry the ball and deliver to the forwards. Second half we were determined to keep the same intensity and defended well with Anna Perry holding the centre working alongside Eva Holliwell and Olivia Collins. Shepton scored from a great strike just inside the D. Mendip continued to hold strong but after a questionable short was given Shepton increased their lead to 2-0. We changed formation for the last 10 to increase pressure upfront and although we had a few chances we just couldn’t pull back the score line. Well played to all, a great team effort, especially missing a few regular team players. Thanks to all the supporters. I earned POTM probably for my frantic running around trying to distrupt play 
I probably should get Wally too for forgetting to sign the sheet and then driving back to sunny Shepton.
