27/2/16: Mendip secured a vital 3 points on Saturday, with what ultimately proved to be a comfortable win over league strugglers North Somerset. The home side had the better of a scrappy first half, and despite conceding an early goal, showed good strength and perseverance in the face of an experienced North Somerset team. Sarah Pearce exemplified this super attitude, making a great run into the D to slot home an equaliser before half time .
The second half saw Mendip outrun and outplay their more senior opposition, with youngster Georgia Price taking the Player of the Match plaudits.
Mendip scored 4 second half goals, including a double from Pearce to complete her hat-trick, to put the game out of sight and bolster their goal difference.
This Saturday, Mendip face Old Bristolians at Norton Hill (10:30am)
