Ladies 3rd XI 3 v North Somerset 2nd XI 0

28/11/15 :  Mendip put in an excellent performance in dire conditions on Saturday, and came away with three richly deserved points. A solid first quarter saw Mendip’s midfield dominate possession and territory. Mendip found the breakthrough on twenty minutes, with Lowri Bryant-Young and Maddie Collins combining well down the right, before working the ball across to the far post, where Sarah Pearce was on hand to slot the ball home. Emma Moffat doubled Mendip’s lead early in the second half, coolly converting a penalty stroke after the ball had been deliberately stopped with a foot on the goal line. The win was sealed soon after with more excellent passing and movement. Ella Constable worked hard through the middle, before setting up a great crossing position on the right. Following a sweetly struck cross, Pearce was on hand again to ensure that the ball beat the North Somerset keeper. Mendip’s player of the match was Sarah Pearce. This Saturday, Mendip are away to Old Bristolians, pushback at 3:45pm.
